Gallery Artists

At ArtWRKD, we proudly represent artists who are true visionaries and modern alchemists. Their work resides in a ruleless space where storytelling reigns. The work is captivating, and their impact on the world of visual arts is undeniable. We are passionate about showcasing their exceptional talents and providing a platform for them to connect with art enthusiasts and collectors.

LUCINE KAPLAN

An Artist in Residence, represented by ArtWRKD and raised a few blocks from the gallery in the Newtown Borough. Lucine is virally and internationally known to be the first-and-only artist to work with pantyhose as a 2D fiber art medium. Spanning her career over 11 years on the conceptual grounds of feminism and fashion in fine art.

SHEER JOY showcases a compositionally sound body of work, divided into two collections: RIPPING THE SEAMS, exploring the relationship between the history of hosiery with feminist movements; and LIBERATION, reimagining  the story of the Wizard of Oz.

Jeanette Griffith

Painting and Musical Interplay

The work in this show was created through listening to music in my studio. I listen to music and I paint what I hear. For me, the music whether jazz or rock, or classical or traditional there is a close relationship between my box of paints and what I am listening to. The visual and audio interchange between color, line, shapes, form, depth and structure with the melody, intensity, rhythm, harmonies, sometimes dissonant, sometimes gentle combinations in music stimulate imagination and hopefully create a connection with the viewer. The glass displayed in this show is early work. I started my life in art working as a stained glass fabricator and designer, moved to sculpture, and eventually began to paint.

KEV VON HOLT

My work explores the relationship between myself, and the discourse in current culture. With influences spawned from the eyes of ADHD and anxiety, new synergies are synthesized from both frantic and deliberate dialogues. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the unrelenting divergence of the universe. What starts out as vision soon becomes corroded into a manifesto of lust, leaving me into a sense of anxiety and chaos , and the inevitability of relief. As intermittent derivatives become clarified through frantic and critical practice, I am then left with a clue to the complexity within my own soul.

KIMBERLY ORT (BERLY)

Artist Statement:
My journey as an artist began as a calling. It’s one of those supernatural individualistic occurrences that are difficult to explain.

My artistic journey began around 2005 and has moved from painting solely pet portraits to more recently creating abstract figurative pieces incorporating all forms of mixed media on paper.

My goal within each painting is to tap into whatever emotion I am feeling at that time, and allowing that to drive the mood of the figure I am depicting and what they are directly experiencing in the moment.

My end goal is for my audience to relate to my art on a very personal level. I genuinely have a need and a longing to connect with other people as many of us have similar paths in how we live our lives and what we go through emotionally.

I will always be an evolving artist and human being. The current version of myself is an open minded, accepting, and empathetic person who wants to be free to explore and have stability at the same time. And the most important thing to me and my family and those I want to surround myself with on this fast moving journey we call life is equality for all people.
