Michael Palladino was born in Brooklyn and raised in the woodlands of Flemington, New Jersey, where early encounters with nature sparked a lifelong artistic pursuit. He studied printmaking and photography at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts before immersing himself in Manhattan’s East Village, where the experimental energy of the scene shaped his distinctive vision.

Merging his printmaking roots with new techniques, Palladino carves wooden reliefs like etching plates, layering them with acrylics and encaustic wax. The result is work that is both sculptural and painterly, transforming nature, animals, and landscapes into meditations on the sublime. Series such as NEST, HIVE, FOREST LANDSCAPES, SEA AND SKY, LABYRINTH, and GEODE reveal his fascination with repetition, mystery, and the sacred within the ordinary.

Influenced by artists like Anselm Kiefer, Marcus Leatherdale, and Kwang Young Chun, Palladino’s work is held in collections including JKJ Corporate Headquarters, Johnson & Johnson, and Stockton State College. His awards include Best in Show, the Juror’s Prize, and Critics’ Choice, with features in art books and publications such as Upper Makefield Magazine and Art News Now.

A full-time artist, Palladino is active in creative communities including the Arts Community of Easton and Makers Alley, and is represented by ArtWRKD Gallery in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Critics and collectors describe his prolific output as “amazing” and “wonderful.” When not in the studio, he draws inspiration from hiking, kayaking, and cooking—activities that, like his art, reflect his deep reverence for the natural world.
