Instructor- Carol Corbett
"I have always been drawn to strong, graphic images. I believe there is as much beauty in a dying rose as there is in an old pair of sneakers. Watercolor is my medium of choice, but I have been told that my paintings often look like acrylic. I believe that is because I love intense color and larger than life imagery. I also paint on alternate surfaces. Mounting watercolor paper on cradle board gives the painting a very different feel or painting on Aquabord and other DIY surfaces, all pushing the boundries of watercolor without losing what makes the paint so special. By focusing on close-ups and details, I aim to draw attention to the beauty and intricacy of the objects we often overlook in our daily lives."
Member of the Doylestown Art League, where I served on the board from 2019 to 2022. My work has been recognized in various juried shows. Winning the R. Louisa Wismer Award for Watercolor in both 2020 and 2023 from the DAL.
Watercolor teacher since 2019.
A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art, I was an art director in advertising in both NYC and Los Angeles for my first career which kept me both creative and very busy.
Started watercolor painting in 2018 and took advantage of everything on line to educate myself. I paint daily and enjoy teaching other artists what I have learned.
