We would like to welcome David Riviera as a new Artist mentor and educator.
David Rivera is a contemporary artist whose work explores atmosphere, narrative, and the human presence within constructed and imagined spaces. Working across both traditional and digital media, his practice often centers on figurative painting, with a particular focus on light, mood, and subtle storytelling.
Drawing inspiration from classical techniques and materials, Rivera incorporates methods such as egg tempera and gold leaf alongside more contemporary approaches, creating works that balance technical precision with emotional resonance.
In addition to his studio practice, Rivera is dedicated to sharing his knowledge through teaching and community engagement. He conducts art courses and workshops that emphasize foundational skills, material understanding, and the creative process.
Rivera’s work reflects an ongoing interest in how memory, perception, and imagination shape the way we experience images, inviting viewers to slow down and engage more deeply with what they see.
EGG TEMPERA FOR BEGINNERS with Artist and Educator David Rivera | ArtWRKD
Egg tempera is an ancient medium which combines egg yolk with powdered pigment. It's known for rendering brilliant jewel-like colors and fine detail. This course will cover how to prepare traditional egg tempera, and apply it to a solid wooden support using a variety of techniques.

GOLD LEAF FOR BEGINNERS with Artist and Educator David Rivera | ArtWRKD
This course will combine the techniques of gold leaf and oil painting to create a luminous landscape. Students will learn how to apply the gold leaf as a base layer to create an inner glow which will mimic a sunset light.

About the event
ArtWRKD is honored to host these three very talented female vocalists. This concert is held upstairs through our Speakeasy bookcase in the ArtWRKD gallery.
Ali Forrest is a North Carolina-based songwriter making thoughtful songs about strange times. Her music shifts comfortably between intimate, stripped-down moments and chaotic, guitar-driven release, pairing observant, sometimes wry storytelling with arrangements that can feel either close and conversational or loud and unfiltered. She has a knack for finding humor in the mildly catastrophic—the awkward, the uncertain, the quietly unraveling—and turning it into something warm and relatable.
Emily June is an independent singer/songwriter currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her vulnerable, visceral lyrics paint stories that are unique and honest, told against a sonic background of both raw instrumentation and eclectic production. She explores themes of self-reflection, heartache, nostalgia, nature, and existence, aiming to bring fresh takes to these familiar topics.
Dirty Dollhouse
Dirty Dollhouse, spearheaded by Newtown's own Chelsea Mitchell, merges folk, retro-pop, and country.
Her latest album, "The End," takes listeners through a poignant narrative of love, loss, and healing, reminding us that with every ending comes a new beginning.

The Ideology of Revolution examines the belief systems that underpin revolutionary movements and the enduring human pursuit of radical societal change.
Revolutionary ideology advocates for liberty, equality, and the rights of individuals, often challenging established authority and promoting popular sovereignty. It inspires collective action and envisions new social orders—reshaping political and cultural landscapes during moments of upheaval.
This exhibition invites artists to explore:
Liberty and equality
Collective power and popular sovereignty
Resistance to authority
Social justice and systemic change
The tension between utopian vision and lived reality
From historic revolutions to contemporary movements, artists were encouraged to interrogate the principles that ignite transformation. What does freedom truly mean? Who defines equality? How are revolutionary ideals sustained, compromised, or reimagined?
